JRs Take First Series
Sportsgate HOCKEY: Sunday, March 17, 2019:  The Kingston Jr's have won their first Provincial Women's Hockey League playoff series in franchise history, polishing off a sweep of the Bluewater Jr. Hawks with a 2-1 win on Friday night at the Invista Centre.

The JR's captured the best-of-five first-round series 3-0, having won the first two games on the road last weekend.Playing in front of a large crowd of 212 (102 more than their posted regular season average), the Ice Wolves struck twice in the first period. Tatum White, with her third goal of the series, opened the scoring at 11:25, followed by Scout Watkins-Southward 3:10 later, with her fourth goal of the post-season. Each team had just four shots on goal in the opening frame. "[Goaltender Emma] Gorski played very well in net for us and, as well, we give Bluewater credit as they did not sit back in any way and fought hard." It was Gorski's second win of the series. She had a shutout in the series opener, 4-0, last Saturday afternoon.
