JRs Weekend Update
Nov. 3-5, 2017: The Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves, by scoring the game's first goal on Saturday, nearly copied the format that led to a tie against Cambridge on Friday night in Provincial Women's Hockey League action.

Scout Watkins Southward scored the only goal for Kingston for a 1-1 OT final. However, on Saturday, the Stoney Creek Sabres came back with a pair of goals instead of just one, and edged the Ice Wolves 2-1. Melanie Young put the Ice Wolves on the scoreboard 5:35 into the game with a power-play goal. It was her fourth goal of the season. The Kingston Jr's ended their 3-game road trip on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over the Kitchener-Waterloo Rangers. Well into the 2nd period, Cailin Turney scored with assists by Melissa Jefferies and Scout Watkins Southward.  Then, with a tie game going into the third period, Watkins Southward got her 5th goal of the season, assisted by Turney and Nicole Escano. The Kingston Jr's were able to hold onto the 2-1 lead for the win.********Two Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves playing for Team Ontario Blue will go for the gold medal Sunday night at the 2017 National Women's Under-18 Championship in Quebec City.Forwards Alexa Hoskin and Darcie Lappan helped Ontario Blue down Saskatchewan 6-2 in the semifinals on Saturday and earn a berth in the gold medal game against Ontario Red at 4:15 p.m. Ontario Red got past British Columbia in the other Saturday semifinal, 6-1.Ontario Blue goes into the game with a 4-0 record through round-robin and semifinal play while Ontario Red is 2-2 overall.
