Marissa was a member of the Ice Wolves’ first competitive Novice team. She continued playing with the Ice Wolves until heading to Belleville to play for Troy Sweet and the Bearcats in her second year of Bantam. Marissa then was a proud member of the Kingston Jr Team from 2014 to 2017. She was second in scoring during her final season to help lead the Jr Ice Wolves to their first ever playoff berth. In 2017, Marissa continued her hockey career with an athletic scholarship to play for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Ridgebacks (later named Ontario Tech University in 2019). During her five seasons as a Ridgeback, Marissa completed both her Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and her Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior). In her final season as a Ridgeback, Marissa helped the team to their first postseason appearance in a decade. After completing her five seasons in the OUA, Marissa assisted in coaching a local U13 Oshawa girl’s hockey team before heading back to live in Kingston. Now working as a full-time elementary school teacher in the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, she has returned to work and take on an assistant coaching role with the Kingston Jrs. Marissa is excited to be back home and using her hockey knowledge and experience to help develop these young athletes.
